    Here comes a rare opportunity for young Africans who are excited to have a good educational exposure and training to apply for 2023 Yale Young African Scholars (YYAS) Program to be held in the United States of America.

    YYAS is an intensive academic and enrichment program aimed at supporting young Africans who are currently in high school and planning to pursue higher education, as well as those who wish to make a meaningful leadership impact on youth.

    Yale Young African Scholars Program ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ท ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

    To be eligible for the Yale Young African Scholars Program 2023 in the United States, applicants must meet the following criteria:

    • Be at least 14 years old by the application deadline (01 February 2023) in order to be considered. Note that the The typical YYAS student is between 15 and 18 years old๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ท
    • Be able to participate in a rigorous academic program of study conducted in English.
    • Be a citizen or permanent resident of an African country. Applications will also be accepted from refugees living in an African country.
    • I am currently attending school in an African country.
    • Be a current 11th grade student (or the international equivalent).
    • If you attend school in the Northern Hemisphere, you must graduate from high school by May/June 2024 at the latest. 2024

    Application process

    How to apply: Interested applicants for the Yale Young African Scholars Program 2022 must follow the steps outlined below. The official copy of the grade report should be attached and also a recommendation from the applicant’s teacher.

    Application requirements

    • Completed application form โ€“ The application is online and must be completed by the applicant. Students will be asked to complete a 500-word essay and two short answers and will need to provide information about their extracurricular activities and the school they are currently attending.
    • Official transcript or score report
    • One (1) teacher recommendation โ€“ The recommendation must be completed via the online recommendation form that will be sent to a teacher’s email after the student has provided their contact information.

    Steps to apply:

    step 1 Check and make sure you meet the YYAS eligibility criteria.
    step 2 Check the required elements of the YYAS application.
    Step 3 review to PDF of a sample application blankand start preparing to answer as many application questions as possible.
    Step 4 You will need to submit contact information for a parent/guardian, teacher and/or staff member at your school. Contact them as soon as possible to check PDF of a sample application blank with you and make sure to collect the information you need.

    Complete the application:

    Step 5 click APPLY NOW to start the YYAS application. Be sure to note your email and password to access the app later. Make sure you complete and submit your application before the deadline.
    Step 6 Check the app’s “Check” page to see if necessary items are missing, and revisit any pages that require more information.
    Step 7 Once your application is complete, click on the “Review” page. Then click the ‘Submit Application’ button at the bottom of the page.
    step 8 Check your inbox for a YYAS receipt indicating the successful submission of your application.
