How to get a waiver for the GRE
As mentioned earlier, the GRE measures students’ critical thinking, analytical writing, verbal, and quantitative reasoning skills. GRE scores provide common measures for comparing applicants’ qualifications and help evaluate grades and recommendations.
While some accredited graduate programs do not require the GRE, most do. In some cases, it is possible to waive the GRE test, but this decision is made on an individual basis and certain steps must be taken to ask your private school to waive the test for your application. The following steps can be taken to get a GRE waiver:
- Prepare all your application materials
This should include all your transcripts, resume, required letters of recommendation, statement of purpose, and relevant essays.
two. Email the admissions department
Call or email the admissions department at the university you are interested in and ask about the GRE requirements. If the University requires the GRE test, ask them to send you a request form to waive the test.
3. Complete the application form
Complete the reference form and return it to the admissions office with the rest of your application materials. If the admissions office does not offer a waiver option, you can call or email the head of the department to which you are applying.
4. explain your reasons
Explain your reasons for waiving the GRE exam and present all of your other qualifications, including your undergraduate degrees and work experience. You can then request an application form to waive the exam from the department.
5. send a copy
Send a copy of the reference form with your application to the admissions office and also send a copy back to the department.
6. Wait for a reply
In most cases, if your application is rejected, your application will not be rejected. Instead, you will likely receive a response from the admissions office asking you to take the exam and send back the scores.
How to get a waiver for IETLS
If you already have a good level of English, you can write a waiver letter so you don’t have to take the test or present the results. An IELTS exemption letter is a written communication where you ask the admissions committee to grant you an IELTS exemption.
