President’s Scholarship for International Students:

The scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate full-time international student. It is valued at $30,000is one of the most famous scholarships in University of Ottawa.

Applicants must hold a student visa, have a minimum admission average, and demonstrate leadership qualities and commitment to academic and extracurricular activities. The scholarship is renewable for the next three years as long as the student maintains full-time enrollment, international student status and a minimum CGPA of 8.50. The University also provides a one-time award of $1,500 to second-, third-, and fourth-place nominees.

2.) Chancellor’s Scholarship for International Students:

The Chancellor’s Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate full-time international students who are valued $26,000, is one of the most awarded scholarships at the university. Students may renew their scholarship for the three years remaining for the student to complete their undergraduate studies. The student must hold a student visa, demonstrate leadership skills, and demonstrate dedication to academics and extracurricular activities. The University also provides a one-time award of $1,500 to second-, third-, and fourth-place nominees.

3.) Faculty of Arts Dean’s Scholarship

The School of Arts is awarding 10 of these renewable scholarships valued at $4,000. Eligible applicants must be enrolled full-time, and for the first time, in an undergraduate program at the university’s School of Arts. The renewable scholarship is awarded on the condition that the student has a cumulative grade point average of 9.00 or higher at the end of one term and is enrolled full-time in the School of Arts. No application is required for this scholarship. The scholarship is awarded during the summer preceding the applicant’s studies.

4.) School of Engineering Dean’s Scholarship

The School of Engineering awards 35 of these scholarships to students who possess excellent academic qualifications. The scholarship is valued at up to $5,000. Applicants must be enrolled full-time and for the first time in an undergraduate program in the School of Engineering.

No application is required for this scholarship. All eligible students, including international students, are automatically considered for this award.

5.) School of Engineering Memorial Scholarship

The School of Engineering awards this scholarship to seven female students – one from each of the engineering programs. To apply, students must submit a letter explaining why they are applying to an engineering program and also submit an updated date highlighting their latest academic extracurricular achievements. Applications must be submitted online.

All female students admitted to the School of Engineering, including international students, are eligible for this scholarship.

6.) Faculty of Social Sciences Dean’s Award of Excellence for International Students:

The School of Social Sciences awards a $1,500 scholarship to the best eligible international student enrolled full-time, for the first time in an undergraduate program in the School of Social Sciences. Applications must be submitted online.

7.) Student Mobility Scholarship

Through the International Exchange Program, the University of Ottawa offers many opportunities to study and complete an internship abroad. All students selected for the Exchange Program automatically receive the Student Mobility Scholarship.
