NDDC Overseas Postgraduate Scholarships 2022 – 2023

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is accepting applications from interested and eminent candidates for Scholarship Program for Postgraduate Studies Abroad as part of the Human Resource Development Initiatives to give Niger Deltans the opportunity to compete globally in various fields of study.

The Niger Delta Commission (NDDC) Post Graduate Scholarship Program will also give Niger Deltans the education and skills they need to effectively participate in the local content program of the current administration and compete internationally in various professional fields.

The program is aimed at suitably qualified candidates with relevant Bachelor/Master degrees from recognized Universities in the following professional fields:

  • agricultural sciences
  • engineering
  • Environmental sciences
  • Geosciences
  • law
  • Management Sciences
  • medicine
  • architecture
  • Hospitality Management

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for NDDC Overseas Postgraduate Scholarships, applicants are expected to meet the following requirements:

  • Applicants MUST be from the Niger Delta region.
  • Applicants must have a First Degree with a minimum division of 2nd Class-Below for those wishing to undertake a Post Graduate Programme.
  • Applicants must have been admitted to a Master’s Program in any of the disciplines listed above, at a University abroad.
  • Candidates already enrolled in Universities abroad are NOT eligible to apply.
  • Written consent of guarantor of applicant’s good behavior from any of the following persons from applicant’s Community/Lighthouse.
  • Member of the National Assembly/State Parliament
  • LGA Chairman
  • First class traditional ruler
  • Judge of the Supreme Court
  • People with evidence of cult involvement or criminal records are not considered.
  • Applicants must have completed the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
  • All applicants MUST be from the Niger Delta region.

Application Procedures

How to apply: The application must be submitted online on the Commission’s website: (www.nddc.gov.ng) with the following attachments:

  • recent passport photo
  • Local Government Identification Letter
  • Letter of admission to postgraduate studies from a recognized University abroad. Relevant degrees from recognized Universities.
  • NYSC Discharge/Discharge Certificate.

Upon successful completion of the application, a registration number will be automatically assigned.

Print the hard copy of the confirmation generated online for easy reference. All selected candidates will be posted on the NDDC website (www.nddc.gov.ng)
