These scholarships are available to first-year students newly admitted to the University to begin the program for the 2022 – 2023 academic session.
Freshmen receive the highest scholarship for which they qualify. They cannot earn additional KU international admissions scholarshipsbut may receive additional scholarships from their academic unit at KU.

KU International Admissions offers various scholarships to undergraduate students seeking a degree. All scholarships are renewable and range from $3,000 per year to a full tuition waiver valued at more than $25,000 per year. First-year students must submit a separate application to be considered for the following scholarships:

- International Distinction
- International Achievement
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for KU International Admissions Scholarships, applicants are expected to meet the following requirements:
- Applicants must be international students
- Applicants must be freshmen
- Applicants must be prepared to enroll in a full-time undergraduate program
- Applicants must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA and be enrolled in at least 27 credits at KU
- Applicants must have proof of English Language Proficiency.

Application Procedures
How to apply: To be considered for the KU International Admissions Scholarships, applicants must submit a separate online application for the scholarship. Your application must contain the following:
- Official proof of knowledge of the English language.
- A curriculum vitae or curriculum vitae that includes all extracurricular activities, leadership, service, and awards, as well as explanations of three activities included and why they are meaningful to you.
- Two letters of recommendation.
- SAT or ACT scores, if available.
- A 500-word essay on the topic of your choice, although the following are recommended:
- Your personal and academic goals and how you hope to achieve them at KU.
- Your field of study and your specialized interests in it.
- How do you plan to use what you learn at KU when you return to your country?
