Clark University Jonas Clark Scholarship for International Students in USA 2022/2023

The Jonas Clark Scholarship is awarded to incoming students who have demonstrated the potential to challenge convention and transform the world.

It is named after our founder, Jonas Clark, who wanted to support an educational model that would create free and bold learners and citizens of the world.

Clark University is a private research university in Worcester, Massachusetts. Founded in 1887 with a large endowment from its namesake Jonas Gilman Clark, a famous businessman, Clark was one of the first modern research universities in the United States.

Originally a university institution, Clark University’s first undergraduates entered in 1902 and women first enrolled in 1942.

The university now offers 46 majors, minors and concentrations in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and engineering and allows students to design technical majors and compete in pre-professional programs.

Clark University is known for its programs in the fields of psychology, geography, physics, biology, and entrepreneurship, and is a member of the Central Massachusetts Higher Education Consortium that helps students register to take courses at other institutions, including of Worcester Polytechnic Institute and the College of the Holy Cross.

However, as a liberal arts-based research university, Clark University provides significant research opportunities to its students, particularly at the undergraduate level through LEEP project funding, but is also respected for its environment as the second smallest university among the top 66 national me US News & World Report and as one of the 40 Colleges that change lives.

Clark University is ranked among “R2: Doctoral Universities – High Research Activity”. He was also a founding member of the Association of American Universities, but left in 1999.

In addition, graduate and professional programs are offered through the Graduate School, the Graduate School of Management, the Graduate School of Geography, the Frances L. Hiatt School of Psychology, the Gustaf H. Carlson School of Chemistry, the Adam Institute for Urban Teaching, and School Practice, the International Development, Community and Environment (IDCE), and the School of Professional Studies, and the Strassler Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies.

Clark University competes in 17 NCAA Division III varsity sports as the Clark Cougars and is part of the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference. Intramural and team sports are also offered in a wide range of activities.

The university’s faculty and alumni have founded many companies and organizations, including Panera Bread, the American Psychological Association, and the American Physical Society, and have played a leading role in the development of modern rocketry, the air-chilling agent, and the birth control pill.

Clark University is also the alma mater of at least three living billionaires, in addition to its alumni who have won three Pulitzer Prizes, multiple Suey Awards, and an Emmy Award.

The university offers 32 undergraduate studies. Clark University offers 57 study abroad and distance programs in 34 countries. Clark University has 212 full-time faculty, representing a 10:1 student-faculty ratio. Ninety-four percent of Clark faculty have PhDs or terminal degrees.

Additionally, Clark University is accredited by the New England Commission on Higher Education. In recent years, the university has been particularly noted for its departments of geography and psychology, the latter having a distinct humanitarian orientation.

Additionally, the university was rated #1 for undergraduate geography by Rugg’s recommendations for colleges and has always been rated in the top 10 in the country by other publications. The geography department also offers a postgraduate level degree in GIS as part of the free fifth year programme.

Benefits:

Eligible scholars for the Jonas Clark Scholarship will receive a four-year $56,000 award ($14,000 per year) regardless of their family’s financial need, provided the student meets the continuation requirements from year to year.

Your eligibility for the Jonas Clark Scholarship depends on your academic achievements (those listed on your application for admission), not your family’s needs. However, international students who may qualify for scholarships are expected to demonstrate the ability to cover a significant percentage of the cost of their education.
