The University of Adelaide Refugee & Humanitarian Undergraduate Scholarship is currently open for applications from interested and eligible students who wish to enroll in a program of study at the University for the academic term 2022/2023.

The Adelaide Refugee & Humanitarian Undergraduate Scholarships have been established in recognition of the financial hardship faced by international students from a refugee background and will support these students to fulfill their ambition to study at the University of Adelaide.

DETAILS | Adelaide Refugee & Humanitarian Scholarship

The Adelaide Refugee and Humanitarian Undergraduate Scholarships provide 100% tuition fees & Student Services & Benefits Scholarship (SSAF) for students commencing undergraduate programs in Semester 1 2022 who have not previously undertaken any university study in Australia.

All individual 3-4 year programs (excluding Medical Studies, Dentistry, Oral Health, Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy and Veterinary Bioscience programs as well as Double, Combined and Concurrent Degrees).

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for the Adelaide Refugee and Humanities Undergraduate Scholarship, applicants are expected to meet the following requirements:

  • Applicants must be permanent humanitarian visa holders international students
  • Applicants must be admitted to an undergraduate Bachelor’s degree program commencing in Semester 1, 2023 (ie hold a Letter of Offer and meet any academic and English proficiency requirements outlined in that Letter of Offer). and
  • Applicants must hold a Bridging Visa E (BVE) or Temporary Protection Visa (subclass 785) or Safe Haven Business Visa (SHEV). and
  • Applicants must be able to provide evidence of their financial ability to support themselves through the study.
  • The scholarship must be taken in the year in which it is offered. acceptance of the scholarship offer cannot be deferred. If a student declines the scholarship offer, the scholarship will be offered to the next eligible student.
  • Applicants can only apply for this scholarship once they have received an Offer Letter from the University of Adelaide and have met any academic and English proficiency requirements outlined in that Offer Letter.
  • Applicants who do not meet all the requirements outlined in their Letter of Offer before the Scholarship Application deadline will not be considered for the Scholarship. Applicants who need to take an IELTS or other English language test acceptable to the University are encouraged to book a test as soon as possible.
