AAUW International Fellowships For Women 2022/2023, USA

The AAUW International Fellowship Program is for women who wish to pursue postdoctoral studies in the US with the intention of returning to their home countries.
Minimum requirement is a Bachelor’s degree. Applicants must apply to the institution of their choice before applying to the AAUW program. Selection criteria include academic performance and commitment to women’s and girls’ issues.

Benefits of AAUW International Scholarships:

  • Master’s: $20,000
  • Doctoral studies: $25,000
  • Postdoctoral: $50,000
  • The money will be used to cover the following: Tuition fees, living expenses, travel to conferences or seminars.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a citizen of another country and not a US permanent resident.
  • Have completed a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent by 15 November 2022.
  • They intend to fully commit to the academic plan.
  • They intend to return home after completing their fellowship.
  • Provide proof of English language proficiency if English is not their first language.
  • have applied for a course at a US university by November 15, 2022 for the duration of the scholarship; acceptance is not necessary at the time of application, but proof will be required later.
  • You cannot apply for a certificate, graduate or undergraduate degree
  • Only research doctoral degrees are eligible (ie PhD or EdD).
  • Postdoctoral applicants must hold a research PhD at the time of application and provide details of where they will be conducting their research.
  • Applicants who are members of Graduate Women International can receive an award to continue their studies in any country other than their own.
  • The scholarship covers programs lasting a full year. Any plan ending before April is not eligible.
  • Previous recipients of an AAUW national scholarship or grant are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
  • Individuals working for AAUW are not eligible. However, award holders may be appointed within the AAUW.
  • AAUW scholarships are available for women and women-identifying people.
  • Applicants may re-apply if they are not successful.
  • Distance education programs are not eligible for AAUW funding. However, due to Covid restrictions the AAUW will decide what form distance education will take. Temporary remote studies due to Covid restrictions may qualify.
