The Association of African Universities (AAU) in collaboration with the African Council for Science, Research and Innovation (ASRIC) and the Euro-Mediterranean University of Fes (UEMF) is calling for qualified applicants for the 3rd ASRIC-UEMF Doctoral Scholarships for African Students.

ASRIC and UEMF offer 10 scholarship places for the academic year 2022-2023 in African Doctoral students to carry out their doctoral research work at the Euro-Mediterranean University of Fez (UEMF), Morocco. The duration of the study and that of scholarship it is three years.

DETAILS ASRIC-UEMF PhD Scholarships for African Students

The African Council for Science, Research and Innovation (ASRIC) is a special advisory body of the African Union with a mandate to implement the Science, Technology and Innovation Strategy for Africa (STISA-2024) and to promote scientific research and innovation of socio-economic development challenges in Africa.

The UEMF is a regional university located in the iconic city of Fez, which houses one of the world’s still operating universities, Al Karaouiyine. The University was created with the aim of promoting the values ​​of leadership, entrepreneurship, innovation and solidarity. In addition, the UEMF is a growing center of excellence in higher education and research with more than one and a half thousand students, 24% of whom are scholarship holders.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for AAU 3rd ASRIC-UEMF PhD Scholarships for African Students, eligible candidates are expected to meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a national of one of the Member States of the African Union;
  • Applicants must be under 35 years of age at the end of this call.
  • Must have a Master’s Degree (in science or engineering), a Diploma or Diploma in Engineering or any other equivalent diploma (degree + 5). and
  • The candidate must demonstrate remarkable ability and dedication along with experience in conducting research in the selected field.

Scholarship benefits

Successful applicants for the AAU 3rd ASRIC-UEMF PhD Scholarships for African Students will receive the following benefits:

  • Tuition about $ 9,000,
  • An annual return ticket from your country with a maximum contribution of $ 1,000 during the summer holidays and
  • Scholarship allowance of $ 1,000 per month for 11 months each year.
